Job Description

The Blueline Mold Technician is responsible for operation and production using the Blueline Presses including all Tung-Yu's . This person must be able to lift and move baskets of parts up to 50 lbs, place materials into molds, and remove parts from the molds. Technicians must also document production and be attentive to details regarding machine set up and changes in production.

The Blueline Mold Technician is responsible for following all company safety rules as well as producing quality parts. In addition, the operator is required to keep up with lot numbers and daily 5S duties (i.e. sorting, straightening, cleaning, standardizing, sustain). Must be able to follow all required safety procedures.

  • Correctly inspects mold, inserts, and rubber preforms and can identify damage or incorrect set up
  • Able to understand production requirements and can correctly document product information throughout process
  • Understands how to correctly use, maintain, and clean equipment throughout job process
  • Able to lift, push, and pull machine parts/inserts
  • Knows the stardard of quality expected and can identify defects including cuts/tears, under cures, air traps, non-fills, contamination, and molded in flash
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized both during shift and at the end of shift
  • Able to correctly identify and match diagrams to part numbers and carry through with correct rubber slugs
  • Continuously operates machine and removes molds upon completion

Physical Demands and work environment:

* Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, lift, push, pull, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stop; bend and lift/bend and twist; talk or hear. The employee must be able to operate hand tools and/or small electric tools; operate in a noisy environment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

* Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, including high temperatures of 125 degrees or more. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high. The area has a strong smell of rubber, paint, adhesives, and thinners.

* Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, cotton gloves and Sleeves must be worn at all times, ear plugs are optional or required depending on the position.
