Job Description

Inside the Role

Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Position offers a starting salary range of$110,500 - $141,500 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Engineering Applications Support

  • Provide Teamcenter, NX and Engineering Application support for DDC Engineering Business Partners
  • First contact person for all IT issues related to the CAD/CAM System environment
  • Conduct training and guidance of DDC Engineering users in NX, TeamCenter, ZGView, ZGDok, TruckBoM view...etc.
  • Main contact person for the CAD/CAM domain and interface between DDC business partners, IT Center of Competence and technology partners.
  • Communicate future process and IT solution within DDC Engineering.
  • Communicate open issues and concerns to respective IT contacts at DaimlerTruck CoC
  • Issue Tracking, follow up and reporting
  • Identify demand/requirement with business partner
  • Discussion with business unit and clarification of demand/requirement
  • Clarify & review demand specification
  • Qualify and consolidate demand
  • Confirm demand by business and IT (Change Request Sign-Off)
  • Identification of leading CoC (if needed) for handling of change request
  • Effort Estimation of demand (internal and external)
  • Change request management, tracking
  • Change request status reporting towards CoC IT and Business Unit
  • Manage demand pipeline
  • Initiating a Purchase Order and setup of required hardware extensions Cax related
  • Plan ramp-up support based on local requirements (IT and business team)
  • Onsite Support and Training on the job during ramp-up phase
  • Identify training requirements within DDC Engineering
  • Identify training participants DDC Engineering
  • Conduct end users training
  • CAx/EDM Release management Annual Global TeamCenter-NX Rollout
  • Rollout Manager, CRM Responsible, Operating System Responsible, EC TeamCenter Responsible, VisView Responsible, and Software Receiver
  • CAx/EDM Release management maintenance release and hotfix upgrades on all CAD devices and servers throughout the year for DDC Engineering users (clients and servers)
  • Completed project to create a Teamcenter Model Office/Sandbox for testing new Teamcenter releases.
  • Completed project to move Teamcenter License to new Windows Server
  • Completed Teamcenter migration on Windows Servers
  • Completed Teamcenter data cleansing project in preparation prior to Teamcenter upgrade.
  • Completed Teamcenter upgrade from Teamcenter to next versions

Network Client (EDS/BCS/PDD/PDS)

  • Point of contact for DDC Engineering user community.
  • New User Login ID request management
  • Local application support (setup, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.)

ZGDok / ZGView

  • Point of contact for DDC Engineering user community
  • push installation for ZGView
  • CAD application support (setup, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.)

TeamCenter / Smaragd Engineering Client/UG-NX/Catia / TruckBoM

  • First point of contact for DDC Engineering users.
  • CRM Administration - installation, configuration, and application support for DDC Engineering sites Detroit and Portland.

SWAN: Data Exchange and Partner Management

  • Point of contact for DDC Engineering user community
  • Support SWAN the data management system employed at Daimler Truck AG for the exchange of engineering data.
  • SWAN is available over the Daimler intranet for employees, as well as over the internet for suppliers.
  • The SWAN client is operating on web browsers under WINDOWS. Local installations are not necessary due to web technology.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technology or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience as Senior Consultant in C#, .Net, NX - Creation of the UI components

  • Experience on service oriented design

  • Creation of Architecture Documentation and Specification

  • Creation of the UI logic and documentation reports

  • Usage of NX-Open API's for prototyping, development and complex solutions

  • Knowledge of TeamCenter

  • Good knowledge of coding standards

  • Familiar with, SDLC and Agile (Scrum) project methodologies

  • Knowledge of the standards of the area of work. E.g. .Net, C# Coding Standards

  • Basic Understanding of Architectural patterns (Service oriented, micro services, enterprise architecture patterns)

  • Strong Knowledge on C, C++, C#, .Net, NX, VB

  • Strong Knowledge on various NX applications like Modelling, Drafting etc.

  • Good understanding on Siemen NX APIs and their functionalities.

  • Good understanding on Ufunc APIs.

  • Good Knowledge on KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering).

  • Excellent Communication Skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or related discipline preferred

  • Knowledge of PDM SMARAGD

  • Good Knowledge on XSLT, HTML, XML Data Processing

  • Good Knowledge on .NET integration.

  • Good knowledge on Java Script, CSS and writing cross-browser compatible code

  • Knowledge in one or more chosen frameworks/libraries like jQuery or Bootstrap
