Job Description

NGS CoreSource, Michigan's leading third party health claims administrator, is seeking a Risk Pool Customer Service Associate to provide outstanding administrative services to State and Federal risk pool applicants. We are in search of an outgoing, flexible, positive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced client focused setting. This position requires a person who has an inherent service orientation, who can clearly communicate both externally and internally. Problem solving and organizational skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are vital.

Essential Functions

This position will assist in the service delivery of State and Federal risk pools. Ongoing service and maintenance is performed in accordance with client directives and internal standards. Risk Pool Customer Service Associates assist applicants through the enrollment process, processing applications, communicating eligibility requirements, obtaining and verifying required documentation and making timely determinations to ensure applicants are correctly enrolled. A Risk Pool Customer Service Associate also investigates to help resolve eligibility and payment issues. Problem solving, multi-tasking, flexibility and time management skills are essential.

Requirements of the position

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills, reading ability, the ability to effectively communicate instructions and time management skills
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience, preferably in the healthcare benefits or insurance industry
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel; familiarity with on-line enrollment systems is ideal
  • An inherent customer service orientation is critical in this position, as is a superior work ethic which includes good attendance, self-motivation and flexibility
